Kaizer Chiefs received a warm welcome from vociferous fans on their arrival at Durban International on Sunday afternoon.

The Glamour Boys will be facing Manchester City at Absa Stadium on Tuesday, 21 July 2009. Kick off for the mouth-watering fixture is at 20h00.

The fans who had waited for hours before the arrival of the flight from Johannesburg wished the Amakhosi all the best in the game.

Clad in their favourite gold and black and brandishing vuvuzelas and warm smiles, the Amakhosi faithful turned the reception area into a party when they burst into music and dance only typical of wedding ceremonies.

Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung was very pleased with the response from the supporters who came out in numbers to welcome the team.

“This was the best experience ever and I want to thank the branches for coming out to welcome the team. We really acknowledge and thank them once more,” said the delighted Motaung.

“The supporters expressed their confidence in the team and coach, Vladimir Vermezovic. We are having roadshows and will be holding meetings with them during our time here in Durban,” revealed Motaung.

Meanwhile the Supporter’s Team will be in full force recruiting supporters at Workshop next to Convention Centre from 13h00. Before that the Team will be in Berea Vodacom Challenge Road show.
