Chiefs players ready for battle

The team this morning had the opportunity to rest properly after yesterday’s strenuous trip and only had a light stretching session in the late morning.

The players are therefore fully recovered & ready for tomorrow’s tough encounter.

The training session today was held at Esperance’s home stadium, Rades, which is an impressive & modern infrastructure built 5 years ago for the Mediterranean Games which were hosted in Tunisia in September 2001.

The players had a non-intensive training session and practiced mostly set pieces. This was an opportunity for them to get a feel of the pitch and of the field. Obviously the stadium will have a totally different vibe tomorrow when approximately 30 000 Esperance supporters will fill it up. Something to which the Chiefs players should be used to, even though the cheers are usually for them & not the opposing team.

The mood in the camp is very positive & the team is very aware of the importance of winning tomorrow in order to facilitate their qualifications to the group stages of the CAF Champions League 2005.

“I am confident that the players & the technical team will do their utmost to take home a victory. We always play to win & this game is no different” said Bobby Motaung, Team Manager.

“The fixture congestion might have seen our players drop in form in the past 2 league games, due mostly to fatigue but this game is guaranteed to be one of the most exciting fixtures to take place in the CAF Champions League this year. The players are ready for the encounter & look forward to measures themselves up to the team that is considered one of the best in Africa”, concluded Motaung.
