Edmore Mashiri shot wide in the box in the 28th minute with only the goalkeeper, Rowen Fernandez, to beat after a poor clearance by defender Derrick Spencer.

The Chiefs coach, Ernst Middendorp, made a double substitution in the 53rd minute, introducing the evergreen Emmanuel "Scara" Ngobese and Patrick Mayo for Arthur Zwane and Gerald Sibeko.

Chiefs continued piling the pressure on the Bucks' defence and goalkeeper Tampungu Dikete was called on to make a breathtaking save in the 78th minute. Dikete made an acrobatic dive to prevent a beautiful header by John "Shoes" Moshoeu from going into the net.

Three minutes later, Chiefs' striker Songwe Chalwe scored the goal that separated the two teams when he finished a rebound shot from Mooki.

Bucks tried desperately to get back into the game but could not penetrate Chiefs' last wall of defence, which was well

marshalled by Patrick Mabedi.
