After a short trip to Pretoria last Saturday to face Mamelodi Sundowns in a Betway Premiership clash, Kaizer Chiefs are back at home this evening for another league encounter against Magesi FC at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Amakhosi are looking for a win over Magesi this evening after drawing 2-2 when they met in the first round back in October in Polokwane.

Looking at the two teams’ recent form, Magesi are high on confidence after beating SuperSport United 1-0 on the weekend. Amakhosi, on the other hand, lost 1-0 to log leaders, Sundowns.

In the Betway Premiership standings, Chiefs are eighth, with 25 points after playing 19 matches. Magesi are technically bottom of the log as they occupy position 15 owing to Royal AM’s inaction due suspended games. The Limpopo side have gathered 17 points in 20 outings.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi has made four changes to the line-up with Rushwin Dortley replaced by Given Msimango; Njabulo Blom comes in for the suspended Thabo Cele, who picked up his fourth yellow card on Saturday; Mduduzi Shabalala is replaced by Mfundo Vilakazi and Ranga Chivaviro takes Tashreeq Morris’ spot after the striker was stretchered off the pitch in the previous match.

Chiefs will again adopt a 4-1-4-1 formation for this evening’s match.

Between the goalposts is Bruce Bvuma.

From left to right, the defence will have Edmilson Dove, Inacio Miguel, Msimango and Reeve Frosler.

Blom is in the middle of the park. He will have Yusuf Maart and Vilakazi in front of him.

Wingers are Pule Mmodi on the left and Glody Lilepo on the right flank.

Chivaviro will lead the attack.

Maart has the armband.

This evening’s referee is Jelly Chavani. He will be assisted by Xolani Hlatswayo and Thabo Thinane. The fourth official is Bongani Matete.

Amakhosi’s 20th league match of the season against Dikwena tša Meetse will kick off at 19:30 at FNB Stadium in Nasrec. The game is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on X (Twitter) @KaizerChiefs.
