Kaizer Chiefs’ development academy teams were given a stern test by Jomo Cosmos in the latest round of the 2024 SAFA Gauteng Development League on Sunday at the Rand stadium in Johannesburg.
After easing through some of the previous rounds, the U13s were held to a 1-1 draw. The Amakhosi U15s gave the traveling fans something to celebrate with a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the next fixture, but Cosmos bounced back in the U17 clash, winning 3-2.
The Chiefs U19s maintained their winning form, though, closing the day out with a 2-1 triumph to bring a successful conclusion to proceedings and an overall positive outcome in the round.
This coming weekend will see the U13s, U15s and U19s play host to Highlands Park at the Village on Saturday, 17 August, while the following day (Sunday, 18 August), the U17s are scheduled to face their counterparts from Highlands Park at 15:00, as part of the GDL U17 Festival at George Lea Park.
