Chiefs lose Spencer to Hellenic

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) DC has ruled in favour of Hellenic in the Derrick Spencer case, which was heard on Saturday and has now ordered the player to return to the Cape Town club.

The DC is yet to provide Amakhosi will a full verdict on how they reached that conclusion.

The case was previously postponed on numerous occasions, as the player was not available due to national team commitments with the Amaglug-glug in China and later Nigeria for the All-Africa Games.

Hellenic claim that the player signed a two-year deal with them on the day his contract came to an end with Santos.

But Chiefs argue that they signed the Durban-born Spencer with proper papers and that they had the player's clearance from his ex-club Maritzburg City who had him on a loan deal from Santos.
