Football Manager, Bobby Motaung has confirmed to kaizerchiefs.com that the Club has lodged a protest against Orlando Pirates after the latter failed to produce PSL Registration Cards before the game (Telkom Charity semi final, 01 August 2009) as per the league’s Rules and Regulations.

Motaung explained, “We lodged our complaint to the League before the start of the game but they convinced us to continue with the game. We then formalized our protest during the course of the first half submitting a letter to the COO of the league, Prof Schloss.”

“During half time Mr. Mayet together with the Match Commissioner inspected Orlando Pirates registration cards and found out that two of their players did not have cards. The PSL came back to us after the game confirming that Orlando Pirates will play Platinum Stars in the final without punitive measures taken against them. It is very important for people to note that we were not contesting on playing in the final as they beat us fair and square but it was a matter of principle. The PSL has now set precedence on the matter,” he said.
