The Amakhosi old boys were in the Free State at the invitation of their sponsors Iwisa Maize Meal and Iwisa’s parent company Premier Foods, as part of the companies 50 year celebrations and visited one of Premiers milling operations in town.

At the Milling facility the Chiefs Legends proved to be a major hit as staff at the plant downed tools to pose for pictures with their favourite players from yesteryear, with current Kaizer Chiefs under –17 coach and former Amakhosi heart throb Doctor Khumalo proving to be the crowd favourite.

Once the team had concluded their visit to the Mill, they made a short journey to a nearby hospital and handed out gifts to the patients. The visit of the Chiefs Legends to the hospital brought some comfort to a number of the patients, with one of the nurses commenting that she had not seen a number of the patients this happy in a while.

The team rounded off it’s activities away from the field of play with a final visit to a home for children who have various handicaps, the team handed out gifts to the kids and partook in a number of fun and games with the youngsters.

On the field of play it was business as usual as Chiefs put paid to the Moqhaka Select XI in front of a full house at the Kroonstad Stadium, they made light work of the host team as Wellington Manyathi opened the scoring for the Chiefs legends.

Just before half time the Amakhosi were cruising as David Modise doubled their advantage, soon after the break crowd favourite Doctor Khumalo got his name on the score sheet as Chiefs went three goals up, with a clinical and trade mark Doctor Khumalo goal.

Former Swaziland international Abel Shongwe rounded off the afternoon’s entertainment as he grabbed Chiefs fourth goal to send the crowd into delirium and the Chiefs legends on their way to a comfortable victory.
