Amakhosi faithful have responded positively to the call made by Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung for fans to go all out and vote to cement the team’s participation in this year’s edition of the Telkom Charity Cup. The popular one-day spectacle will be held in Mafikeng, North West Province on the 2nd of August.

After a low start by this morning Kaizer Chiefs were leading the pack by 14 348 votes, they are followed closely by Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Amazulu.

“Chief”, as Cecil Motaung is affectionately known in the corridors of Naturena was immensely thrilled by a massive response that supporters and fans displayed thus far. Such a symbolic gesture re-affirms that ‘we will not to rest on our laurels’

“The Kaizer Chiefs Family prides itself of the response by our supporters rising up to our call to vote for the team to participate in this year’s edition of Telkom Cup Charity. It is important that we continue voting to make sure that we open a huge gap at the top. We need to maintain the momentum as much as we can, there is still a long way to go” he says.

Chief continues that, “This weekend we are going to the Phakisa Tournament in Vaal and we going to continue to gather more votes. When voting supporters are ought to call the line, 086 22 33 608 or sms the word CHIEFS to 34763. Kaizer Chiefs has from its inception always ploughed back to the community and Telkom Charity Cup gives us once again an opportunity to make difference to the lives of the less fortunate.”

We will be wearing three caps this weekend though; we will as well be going all out to register our supporters and fans to our new database. We will have a dedicated team in attendance during the game that commences at 08H30 up until the final. There is also Vodacom Challenge coming up in two weeks time. There is already communication between our office in Naturena and all our branches to make sure that this tournament is a resounding success like it has always been over the years” he adds.
