Runaway Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to bring the curtain down on 2014 with a bang when they welcome Mpumalanga Black Aces to the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 20 December, for their final match of the year. Regardless of the result, Amakhosi will enter the festive season and the international break as table toppers.

Amakhosi beat Aces 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, courtesy of goals by Mandla Masango and Reneilwe Letsholonyane.

Aces have proven to be a thorn in his side before and Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter is ready for a tough encounter: “The squad has prepared well all week and, having assessed the fitness of all my players, I am confident that the team that takes the field against Aces will do the business on the day.”

“Last season they beat us here at home and we shall not underestimate them,” the Amakhosi coach continues. “But we are on a good run at the moment and we are determined to maintain our momentum going into the new year.”

The match between two teams that like to play a skilful, exciting brand of football should provide a thrilling spectacle for the fans already enjoying the festive spirit. What better way to spend a glorious summer afternoon than to be part of the action with thousands of fellow supporters, living the Amakhosi4Life-style.

“I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the Kaizer Chiefs family,” Amakhosi marketing director Jessica Motaung adds, “to wish all our loyal followers a Merry Christmas. We would dearly love to see as many of you as possible at the stadium on Saturday to see out the year in style together and say, ‘See you in 2015’.”

Match tickets are available from Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide. The cost per ticket is R40 for adults and R10 for children. The game kicks off at 15h30 at the FNB Stadium in Soweto. Supporters are encouraged to make their way to the venue as early as possible to create an amazing atmosphere in anticipation of the match.
