Kaizer Chiefs mentor, Muhsin Ertugral has urged his charges to ‘stand up and be counted’ when they meet relegation threatened Bay United at EPRU Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday night.

The Glamour Boys are hoping to return to their winning ways following a disappointing draw against Free State Stars over the weekend.

“The players and everyone knows how important this game is for us. We need to go all out and fight for three points - nothing less,” said Ertugral just before leaving with the team to OR Tambo International for a trip to Port Elizabeth.

“I had a chat with the guys on Monday following our game against Free State Stars,” he revealed.

“I believe we were not aggressive enough to win against Free State Stars and when you want to challenge for the honours you have to go all out as no one will do you any favours. The players were in full spirit at training this week and that is good going to this game,”

Ertugral said the forced chopping and changing of the team concerned him, “We will have to do without the services of Yeye (Reneilwe Letsholonyane) and (Jeffrey) Ntuka on Wednesday night.

Last weekend we had to do without Shabba (Siphiwe Tshabalala) and Tinashe (Nengomasha). It is not an ideal situation but one you have to accept in football,” he noted.

Ertugral is aware that Bay United who are currently rooted in the bottom of the table will put up a fight of their lives to ease their relegation woes, “They will not be easy. We met them back in December and they made us sweat for a draw.

“We just have to focus on our preparations and I am confident that if we regain our scoring touch we will come back with full points from PE,” he concluded.
