Kaizer Chiefs is determined to turn the tables against Engen Santos in a Wednesday’s encounter at the Confederations Cup/2010 official ground, the Loftus Stadium. The Glamour Boys are determined to soldier on and finish in a respectable position on the log.

Amakhosi have an outside chance of snapping the second spot that will see them competing in the African Champions League. The all important clash may see the return of Chiefs burly striker Ibe Zito Ogbonna who has since returned to training following his recovery from a severe knee injury that nearly ruled him out of the entire season.

It is Chiefs’ last home game of the season and a second game in which FIFA LOC seeks to implement new parking and access plans to the stadium, 37 days before kick-off of the African chapter of the Confederations Cup.

The new system has firm rules and regulations on matters such as closure of certain access roads to the stadium as well as park and walk/ride. Key to the system is ensuring that there are no cars parked within a perimeter of a kilometre of the stadium precinct. This seeks to reduce traffic congestion and improving safety in the stadium area. Buses have been provided to ferry spectators from parking bays specifically identified for “Park and Ride” to and from the stadium. (Enclosed below is a detailed low down of traffic plans)

“We wish to call on all our supporters to support and comply with the park and ride initiative but more importantly get their tickets on time so as to arrive early at the stadium. It is in our supporter’s best interest that things run smoothly at the game. We must always remember that it is everybody’s responsibility to make both the Confederations Cup and 2010 a memorable success.” urged Kaizer Chiefs Public Relations Manager, Siyabulela “24/7” Makunga.

Makunga further boasted that over and above lucrative prizes to be won at the game by those who will proudly don their glamorous gold and black regalia, Amakhosi will go overboard on entertainment so as to close the season in style. The exhilarating performer, Winnie Khumalo is all fired up to take Loftus stadium by storm on Wednesday night.

Tickets sales already show that people want to continue the culture of buying tickets on time. They are still available at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers countrywide.

The Amakhosi Supporters Club, will be hard at work in the Northen Side of the stadium (near ticket sales booths) for signing and renewing membership cards.
