Kaizer Chiefs were recently honoured by the presence of Rilana Film who was here to do a shoot for German’s popular sports program, “Die Sportreportage”.

The Germans spent full three days at the Kaizer Chiefs Village where they interviewed Club personalities including the Chairman, Mr. Kaizer Motaung.

Albert Knechtel who was heading the film crew expressed his rationale to Kaizerchiefs.com for visiting the Village, “With few months before the Confederations Cup and just over a year before the World Cup 2010, we want to direct the viewers attention to South Africa and the most emblematic club, Kaizer Chiefs who has a German link in goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker,” said Albert.

“I was impressed with the professionalism here (Chiefs Village) from day one. I have been to Real Madrid, Barcelona and attended World Cup in France and professionalism here is up with the best in the world. We were given space to do the shoot especially with Rainer and the goalkeepers, they way we wanted to. The interview with the Chairman was the highlight of our visit and we want to thank you for hosting us,” he concluded.

Media Relations Officer, Luthando Zibeko welcomed the visit of the Germans to the Village, “As one football’s most recognized brands, Kaizer Chiefs has really attracted a lot of attention from the media all over the world especially with the Confederations Cup and the World Cup tournaments around the corner.

Last week, we did not only host the Germans; BBC also graced the Village. These visits auger well with the Club’s mission to become a global brand and this is also a sign that the world now is starting to take note of the progress that this country has made since its readmission to FIFA in 1992,” he said.
