BidVest Stadium, Johannesburg

Premier Soccer League

Kick Off: 15h45

17th February 2007

Temperature: 26 Celsius

In the build up to Chiefs game against BidVest on Sunday afternoon a lot has been made out of the fact that The Students had been given the go ahead by the Premier Soccer League, to play the game at their home ground the BidVest Stadium. Located on campus at the Wits University in Johannesburg the BidVest Stadium is able to accommodate around 5 000 fans. There was concern raised about spectator security at the venue, the initial signs as kick off draws near are a good advertisement for South African soccer, as both sets of fans have neatly filed into the compact venue.

Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp is hoping for his to break a two match losing streak on Sunday afternoon with a win against the Students, as well as giving the Chiefs fans who have turned up at the BidVest Stadium something to cheer about. As they have braved an early afternoon highveld shower and will be expecting a win for their troubles. On the field of play the Chiefs coach has opted to make just two changes to his team, from the one that lost out a week ago to Golden Arrows.

Striker Rotson Kilambe who had to leave the field in the final minutes of the Arrows game through injury has been replaced by Gert Schalkwyk up front, Schalkwyk looked lively and added strength to Chiefs attack after coming on as a second half substitute against Arrows. Has done enough to convince coach Ernst Middendorp that he is worthy of a starting berth, like wise Arthur Zwane also a substitute last weekend has been given the go ahead by the coach to start on Sunday, Zwane takes the place of Scara Ngobese on Sunday.

Chiefs final change sees Derrick Spencer make his first start for The Amakhosi since under going a groin operation in November last year Derrick will fill in for Tinashe Nengomasha, The Zimbabwean international has been left out all together by Ernst Middendorp for the game against Wits.
