Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung hosted the visiting FC Moscow delegation at a private cocktail party, held at the Sandton hotel in Johannesburg where the visitors are currently camping out ahead of their friendly game with the Amakhosi on Saturday.



In attendance were the club chairman of Chiefs as well as Moscow and other staff members of both teams which included coaching staff from both teams. In addition representatives from the Russian embassy and representatives from the Gauteng government were also in attendance at the event.



FC Moscow had made a special commerative pennant to mark Saturday’s historical clash between themselves and the Amakhosi and it was handed over to Kaizer Chiefs club chairman Kaizer Motaung, by his opposite number from FC Moscow Yuri Belous.



The Moscow club chairman also handed over one of his clubs jersey’s to the Chiefs supremo with the number ‘1 and Kaizer’ emblazoned on the back.



FC Moscow through club spokesperson Oleg Yarovinski was grateful to the Amakhosi for being hospitable hosts and assured Chiefs that a reciprocal visit to Russia certainly was in the offing.



The Russian club made also took the special step of handing over one of midfielder Stanton Fredericks jersey’s to his old primary school in Newclare in Johannesburg.



The shirt was made over to Ignatius Jacobs of the Gauteng Provincial Government who was Stanton’s principle at Primary School, Jacobs was a special guest at the Thursday evenings cocktail party.



Fredericks who joined Chiefs at the start of the 2000-2001 season left Chiefs at the end of the 2003-2004 season to join FC Moscow, after spending three highly successful seasons with Chiefs.



The Amakhosi take on for the first time ever opposition from Russia in the form of FC Moscow on Saturday evening at the FNB Stadium, kick off for the game is at 20h00. Tickets for the game are available nationwide at Computicket at a cost of R20.00.
