Chiefs hold on to fourth spot

Amakhosi closed in on the magical twenty thousand-vote mark as the second week of voting in the race to qualify for the annual Telkom Charity Cup moved into top gear, this after some nervy moments for Chiefs during week two of the voting.

At one stage during the week Amakhosi fell to fifth place in the voting after finishing the first week of voting narrowly off the lead and just behind archrivals in Orlando Pirates in second place.

A weekend of frantic voting saw Mamelodi Sundowns, Black Leopards and Golden Arrows climbing into the top four with Chiefs being pegged back into fifth spot. This all changed when Chiefs amassed the most number of votes on Wednesday and climbed up the table again - at one time Kaizer Chiefs were in third place.

As the working week drew to a close the top three finishers in the PSL last season were all in line to make it to FNB Stadium for a battle royale, on the 5th August.

With just over three weeks to go before the voting is officially closed, Chiefs are still in a position to finish off the voting in 1st place.

Supporters are urged to call the Kaizer Chiefs Telkom Charity Cup Vote line on 086 22 33 708. Or alternatively SMS the number 34702 with the Words Kaizer Chiefs in order to register your vote via your cell phone.

Remember all this is for a good cause as income generated through the voting is given to the PSL Telkom Charity Cup Trust, which helps out more than 400 different charities.
