Kaizer Chiefs Under-19 side currently in Europe for a series of tournaments played their first game on Wednesday against Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup champions, FC Basel holding them to a 1-1 draw.

Defender, Tebugo “Carlos” Ntuli who operated in the midfield found the back of the net for the young Chiefs before Basel grabbing an equalizer in the second half.

On the second game, Chiefs lost 4-0 to a rampant RCD Mallorca of Spain.

“They scored two early goals and that really put us on the back foot. We created number of chances but could not find the back of the net. In the second half they caught us on a break twice and we lost 4-0,” revealed Steenbok.

Fani Madida and his boys will play last two games on Thursday against FC Zurich and Boca Juniors later on.

Meanwhile, Walter Steenbok further revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that the entire team had an opportunity to meet Sepp Blatter on Tuesday at FIFA Headquarters in Zurich.

“It was a wonderful experience for the boys in fact for them meeting Sep Blatter was only second meeting our own Madiba. Mr. Blatter is such a humble man and made time to spend a little bit of time with us,” he said.
