Former Kaizer Chiefs hit-man, Pollen “Trompies” Ndlanya believes that the Glamour Boys have an edge over Orlando Pirates going to the two legged MTN8 final starting on Saturday night at FNB Stadium.

Ndlanya who scored a brace back in 1998/1999 season when the Phefeni Glamour Boys beat their rivals over a two legged Rothmans Cup semi final was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Friday afternoon.

“The first game is very important when playing on a home and away basis. It can also be a mind game,” said Ndlanya who made his debut for the Glamour Boys back in 1991.

“A win is a must in the first game but if it is a draw the second leg will be a cracker,” continued the player nicknamed by Chiefs faithful as “Trompies”.

“I fancy Chiefs to proceed to the finals. I was fortunate to be at Soccer City during the Charity Cup and I was impressed by the way Chiefs played. They looked very solid at the back especially in the game against Mamelodi Sundowns where Dominic Isaacs partnered Thomas Sweswe in the heart of defence with Tlou Molekwane and Punch Masenamela occupying the right and the left back positions respectively,” he said.

Ndlanya ,who is a big fan of Knowledge Musona believes that the young Zimbabwean will again be key in this fixture, “Musona can score at any time,” he said about Musona who was on the score sheet on Wednesday as Chiefs were held to a 1 -all by Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala.

Pirates defence is shaky when put under pressure in particular the new left back. On the other hand Chiefs has players who have lot of pace when going forward. Chiefs should win it,” concluded Ndlanya who also played for Bafana Bafana at 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Kick off for the game at FNB Stadium is at 20h15.
