Kaizer Chiefs will be going for goals in search of three valuable Castle Premiership points and soccer fans can expect to share in the Ultimate Kaizer Chiefs Family Soccer Experience, when the Mighty Amakhosi take on Wits, at the FNB Stadium (Soccer City), Crown Mines, near Johannesburg on Wednesday, 20 September 2006 (20h00 kickoff).

While sensational striker Kaizer Motaung Jnr. will be hoping that his spectacular equalising goal against Jomo Cosmos last week, will have served as a form of inspiration to his fellow strikers to go for goals galore against Wits.

At the other end of the park, Bafana Bafana and Amakhosi goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez will be looking to keep a clean sheet against his former club – the same team that Kaizer Motaung Jnr. scored his first goal against, during the 2004/2005 season.

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Ernst Middendorp said that the team spirit among the Amakhosi players is high and the squad is working tirelessly in an attempt to turn their run of drawn results into victories.

“The players are determined to get on to the winning trail in our PSL campaign and to play their popular short passing game,” said Middendorp.

“A few of our games have been played on pitches more suitably known as cowgrass, which has meant that the uneven surface has forced us to play a long ball game which is not quite our style, but we have had to adapt to the situation.”

The Ultimate Kaizer Chiefs Family Soccer Experience mix of sport, entertainment and competitions is the perfect family fun opportunity on the Gauteng calendar and Kaizer Chiefs have yet again proved to be the leader in the Beautiful Game industry as they embark on attracting soccer fans of both genders and all ethnic groups and communities to their home matches.

As part of the build up to the big match, SA’s soccer talent of the future will go on show, when the Kaizer Chiefs under 15 side take on their Wits counterparts (18h00 kickoff).

Dance outfit, Skomplazi and hip-hop act Pitch Black Afro will be on the field from 19h00 to pump up the beat as they go about preparing the fans inside the stadium for 90 minutes of Amakhosi soccer action.

Match tickets are on sale at Computicket outlets at R20 (adults) and R10 (children).
