The Kaizer Chiefs Village hosted a moving farewell for the entire U-19 team leaving for Switzerland on Sunday, 09 May 2010.

The function hosted at Taung was graced by the attendance of Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung, Managing Director Bheki Shongwe, Marketing Director Jessica Motaung, Football Manager Bobby Motaung who doubled as the Programme Director, the entire Management, legends Doctor Khumalo, Fani Madida and Ryder Mofokeng including the first team led by coach, Vladimir Vermezovic and the entire staff.

The team that will be led by Head of Delegation, Walter Steenbok and Fani Madida (U-19 Coach) will participate in three tournaments in Switzerland, Holland and Germany.

“I do not want to wish you luck, in life you make your own luck,” said the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung addressing the youngsters.’

“Today you must really be proud of yourself, for what you have achieved and for your success. In us here we have Ryder Mofokeng who represented the Club with pride and never had an opportunity to go play overseas.

I am sure people like him envy you today...it then becomes important that you work hard as you have chosen football as a career. Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi spend close to four hours on the training ground perfecting their art.”

Doctor Khumalo a product of Club’s development structures told the boys to enjoy themselves, “I only had an opportunity to go overseas and play when I played for Bafana Bafana. This is a great opportunity for you boys and we do not say go and win but represent us well.”

Doctor’s words were both echoed by captain, Jimmy Tau and Head Coach, Vladimir Vermezovic who said, “You are the future of Kaizer Chiefs. We have already promoted about four players this season to the senior team from the development and you are next,” he said.
