Kaizer Chiefs coach, Muhsin Ertugral has called his charges to focus on the league opener this weekend against Thanda Royal Zulu, not the MTN Wafa Wafa Cup final against Mamelodi Sundowns on 20 September 2008.

Amakhosi beat Moroka Swallows 2-1 on aggregate while Sundowns shrugged off the challenge from arch-rivals SuperSport United to set up a mouth-watering final between the two giants.

Chiefs who finished sixth last season, will be looking at starting the 2008/2009 season on a high note against Thanda at Loftus Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is at 20h00.

“I am not thinking about the final now; my eyes are all in the league opening game against Thanda Royal Zulu. It is unfortunate that Jose Torrealba will not be available for the game after he was shown a red card today. I am going to have a chat with him this week because I thought he should have handled the incident much better.

Dos Santos stamped on his hand and that is not the way to do things...he will have to learn to play fair. We are hoping that Siphelele Mthembu will be available this coming weekend after the hearing” he said.

Ertugral paid a tribute to Moroka Swallows who put a sterling performance on Sunday, “Swallows are a team to watch this season. They are organised and were great today. Having watched the game between SuperSport and Sundowns we knew what to expect from Swallows and they were never going to be easy.

I had also warned my players and everyone during the week that we should not expect this game to be a walk over. We made mistakes at the back and they capitalised on that...we need to work on our defensive organisation” he added.

Tickets for the game are already on sale at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers country wide!
