Chiefs focused ahead of Celtic clash

The Amakhosi arrived at the Eastern Province Rugby Stadium in the friendly city of Port Elizabeth early Saturday evening in a relaxed mood ahead of their friendly match against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Chiefs spent most of the day relaxing at their beach front hotel along the cities famous kings beach, coach Ernst Middendorp has played around with his squad from the one that took on FC Moscow at the FNB Stadium a week ago.

Port Elizabeth native Patrick Mayo enters the starting line up in front of his home town supporters, along with John Shoes Moshoeu and Patrick Mabedi the latter starting in his first recognized game for the Amakhosi since November. There are also starts for Kaizer Motaung Junior and David Mathebula; Chiefs have on the substitute’s bench Daniel Obuta and attacking midfielder who is David Obua’s team mate at international level with the Ugandan national team. Ernst Middendorp has assured that Obuta will be given a run out some time during the game.

Bloemfontein Celtic for their part have brought a near full strength team with the highly effective Siyabonga Nkosi the most notable absentee, as he is currently with Bafana Bafana at the African Nations Cup in Egypt.
