Kaizer Chiefs fans have been encouraged to live up to the club’s slogans of ‘Amakhosi 4 life’ and ‘Love & Peace’, when attending Saturday’s key Castle Premiership match against Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium, Crown Mines, near Johannesburg (15h45 kickoff).

The match follows closely after Amakhosi had tasted victory against Golden Arrows in their recent league outing. Saturdays’ clash is expected to sparkle and attract a hoard of Amakhosi faithful supporters who are passionate about their team despite the recent fallout with the PSL’s Disciplinary Committee.

The promising form shown by players like Derrick Spencer and David Radebe in recent games is further reason to allow Coach Ernst Middendorp to believe that the Amakhosi are on the brink of finding the match rhythm and consistency that they are known for.

“I believe that the team is improving in key departments with every game that they play said Middendorp, who will also be expecting a polished performance from defender and team captain Cyril Nzama, in his 200th appearance for the Amakhosi if selected.

In preventing the unfortunate skirmishes of the recent match against Bidvest Wits University, over 600 security staff will be on duty to ensure a safe environment on one of the most celebrated matches in the PSL calendar.

In response to the scenes of vandalism and unruly behaviour of some Amakhosi supporters, the Chairman Kaizer Motaung has called on them to stand by their team irrespective of the outcome of the match.

As part of the build up to the big match, the Kaizer Chiefs Legends will play against the Kaizer Chiefs Celebrities team at (13h15 kick off time). The Kaizer Chiefs Legends include Amakhosi stars of the past in the Shongwe brothers, the goalkeeper William and striker Abel, midfielders Johannes ‘Chippa’ Molatedi and Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse and defender Ryder Mofokeng. The Celebrity Squad includes kwaito music star Kabelo, Muvhango star Dingaan Mokebe, Isidingo actor Meshack Mavuso and boxer Hawk Makepula.

Match tickets are on sale at Computicket outlets at R20 (adults) and R10 for juveniles. The gates open at 10:00 am.
