The return of duo Wayne Matle and George Lebese have boosted Kaizer Chiefs preparations for the upcoming encounter against Free State Stars from national duty in Zimbabwe.

On the Thursday morning, the two players joined the squad of players who did not travel and those who did not get a game time against Mpumalanga Black Aces on Wednesday night.

Both players impressed during the tournament and described the opportunity to play in the Cosafa Development Tournament as a learning curve, “It was a great opportunity not only for me but all the players who were in the team. I was surprised with the level of competition in the tournament.”

The game against Zimbabwe in the semi finals was very tough and despite playing well I missed the penalty. These things happen and I have put that behind me and I am now focusing on the future” Matle told kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday morning.

The utility player who was used in the holding role during the tournament said he is going to continue working hard in fighting for a place in the Kaizer Chiefs line up, “the level of competition here is very high but I am determined more than ever to fight for my place. I will need to double my efforts at training,” he said.

Lebese echoed Matle words saying, ‘there is no substitute for hard work’, “I just need to continue working hard, give my best at training and when the opportunity comes I will grab it,” said George.
