Kaizer Chiefs registered their second win in a row in an entertaining match at Loftus Stadium on Saturday afternoon when they cruised to a 3-0 victory against Durban based, AmaZulu. It was Chiefs’ third win of the season.

The Glamour Boys fresh from midweek 1-0 victory against Bloemfontein Celtic made their intentions clear as early as the 12th minute when Gert Schalkwyk fired home from close range after AmaZulu defence failed to clear the ball.

Midfielder, Reneilwe Letsholonyane finished superbly at the 32nd minute after a sublime run from scintillating, David Mathebula who had a game of his life for the Glamour Boys.

AmaZulu tried to claw their way back into the game earning a penalty after Mokete Tsotetsi was adjudged to have fouled opposition striker, Collins Chabalala inside the box. Substitute, Ntokozo Skhakhane stepped up to take the penalty but was denied by Itumeleng Khune who pulled a stunning save pushing the ball for corner.

David Mathebula who was a thorn the whole afternoon for the AmaZulu defence, was at his best again in the second stanza of the game when he brilliantly set up for Jose Torrealba but his shot was well saved by Kalililo Kakonje.

The Venezuelan had a last laugh though as he sealed the victory for Kaizer Chiefs as he pounced on a rebound after his penalty was saved by Kalililo Kakonje. It was the sublime Mathebula who had earned his side a penalty when he was fouled by Kapamba Chintu inside the box.

Chiefs came close to making it four towards the end of the game when substitute, Michael Nkambule had his wonderful curler saved by Kalililo Kakonje.

At the end of the day it was a deserved victory for the Glamour Boys who move to 6th position on the league table.
