Kaizer Chiefs appeared before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on Thursday evening on charges of delaying the kick off and failure to obey the match officials’ directive to change the goalkeeper’s kit and comply with the phone and pre match meeting.

This occurred in the Absa Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on 31 October 2009.

Chiefs also faced another charge after the goalkeeper failed to wear an appropriate kit in that the blue jersey which he wore until half-time, and incorrectly numbered 16, did not have the sponsor’s logo, and thus contravened a rule of the PSL kit manual.

They were found guilty on all charges.

Chiefs accepted the verdict although sentencing will be handed down at a later date to be confirmed by the DC.
