A group of six Kaizer Chiefs players lead by Nike’s Aids Awareness ambassador Fabian McCarthy were on hand Thursday the 1st of December, which was World Aids Awareness Day spreading the word on safe sex.

The Chiefs players along with Luyanda Peters visited The Nike Concept Store at The Glen Shopping in Southern Johannesburg.

The players handed out various aids awareness literature as well as condoms supplied by Durex who are part of Nikes ‘greatest opponent’ Aids awareness campaign.

Also made available by the players were red boot laces which Chiefs recently began wearing during games, in order to make more of the public aware as to the damaging effect that the disease is having on the country.

Nike gave out T-Shirts emblazoned with the Nike Aids Awareness logo that read, “life is not a game wear a condom”. The players’ presence did cause a stir at the centre during the busy lunchtime period as fans clamoured for autograph and picture opportunities.
