Chiefs and Cosmos ready for battle
Chiefs and Cosmos ready for battle

Fresh from the 4-0 drubbing of Bilika All Stars in the Absa Cup, league champions Kaizer Chiefs host Jomo Cosmos in their Castle Premiership encounter at Soccer City on Tuesday night.

David Radebe was in superb form and netted a brace and will surely be looking to cause problems for the Cosmos defence.

Cosmos have had a poor season thus far.

They sit two points off the foot of the table and are in desperate need of a win to revive their expectations of playing in the Premier League next season.

They have conceded twenty goals in twenty games and have to tighten their defence, especially against a team with top rate strikers like Kaizer Chiefs.

Jomo Cosmos recently acquired the services of former League leading goalscorer, Ishmael Maluleke, who was signed in a swap deal with Silver Stars.

Mark Haskins moved in the opposite direction, a huge loss to Ezenkosi. However, if Maluleke can yield the expected results it may be exactly what Cosmos need, although he is unavailable for the Chiefs game.

Mokete Tsotetsi has been ruled out of action for Tuesday night’s clash and he will be sorely missed by Cosmos.

Key Players:

Tinashe Nengomasha (Kaizer Chiefs): Last season’s Player of The Year award winner, Nengomasha has been in the shadow of his teammates this season. However, many people don’t realise the terrific work that the midfield maestro puts in. Without him creating the link between the defenders and midielders Chiefs would struggle. His performance is key against Cosmos.

Christopher Katongo (Jomo Cosmos): Chris Katongo has been on target for Cosmos, the Zambian international has scored five of Cosmos’ total tally of sixteen goals this season. Chiefs’ defence will be watching him closely to avoid conceding goals.
