Chat board
Chat board

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters for responding to alternative suggestions to our chat board. Through the many e-mails Kaizer Chiefs have received over the past number of days since the chat board was taken down - we have been able to gauge that the forum was very popular amongst supporters.

We have asked for solutions about replacing it or improving it and we thank all the supporters for their valuable input, which has meant that we can come up with a solution by the end of the week. Many of the e-mails have raised similar concerns and we would like to address them.

1. The decision to remove the chat board was taken after the club management had been made aware of certain unpleasantries that were being aired on the site. A decision was taken to monitor the site, which had been done, and the conclusion was it needs to be taken off the web.

2. SuperSport who host the site for Chiefs have been monitoring and excluding various people from the forum. It was noticed that people with certain kinds of opinions had been returning under different aliases to the site. This was done even though free e-mails such as hotmail or yahoo are not accepted on the site.

3. The decision was not taken to harm or hurt the honest and good-natured Chiefs supporters. It has been done to protect our supporters, sponsors and ultimately the club. The club accepts supporters expressing their opinions and we will reiterate that a solution will be forthcoming soon.

4. Supporters need to understand that they cannot draw a comparison between the club and the PSL. Removing the chat board cannot be equated to barring spectators from the stadium, a decision was taken that had to serve the good of the club.

5. Certain suggestions that have come through have been highly constructive and we will be looking into live webcam interviews with players, the coach or members of the clubs management. We will also look into a daily topic of discussion, which will be the only topic to be discussed on a given day any one straying will be cut off. Supporters are free to send their opinions as to what they would like to discuss on the site. Criticism is warranted - foul and abusive language is not.

Thanks once again to all of you for your valuable input and we appreciate receiving e-mails from all the Amakhosi supporters.

Yours 4 Life

Love & Peace
