Chiefs much awaited second round league encounter against Orlando Pirates has been changed from the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg to the FNB Stadium.

Pirates had asked the PSL for the game to be played at Ellis Park where they have played most of their home games over the past couple of seasons.

The league originally acceded to the Buccaneers but changed the decision on Thursday, with the CEO of the PSL Trevor Phillips saying with the powers vested in him that the match on the 10th December 2005 shall be played at FNB Stadium.

Kick off for the game will commence at 15h45pm and tickets for the game have gone on sale at various computickets around the country including the Amakhosi Store, which is located in Gandhi Square in the Johannesburg CBD.

The league has been reluctant to allow Chiefs and Pirates to contest their games at Ellis Park after 41 fans were trampled to death during a league encounter between the two teams at the stadium in April 2001.

Chiefs’ game a week later on the 17th December against Golden Arrows has also had a change of venue.

The match which was originally scheduled to be played in Rustenburg on the same day, will now be played at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg also on the 17th and kick off for the game will be at 20h00 pm, Chiefs were triumphant when the teams met in September in the first round of the league and the Amakhosi will be hoping for a similar result when the teams meet again.
