Amakhosi players are gearing up for what they consider a special match today – a final for the fans, in which Kaizer Chiefs will face Orlando Pirates for the Nedbank Cup at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. After a tumultuous season, the supporters have stood by the team through thick and thin, and now the players see this as an opportunity to show their gratitude.
"We know how much our supporters have been behind us this season, and this final is for them," says Given Msimango, highlighting the team's motivation, ”Irrespective of the difficulties we are facing as a team they are there for us, we are surely going to change things for the team.”
Msimango believes that the Moses Mabhida Stadium can be a happy hunting ground in the final. He basis his statement on the massive support the team has received since arriving in Durban.
“The atmosphere in Durban is fantastic, as always. Every time we come to Durban it’s our home away from home. The supporters have shown us the love we deserve,” the tough defender notes.
In a show of solidarity, Chiefs supporters flocked to Durban to rally behind their team, as illustrated by the significant turnout at the recent activation at the Workshop Shopping Centre.
As the team prepares to face off against Pirates, they know that they have the backing of their fans and the entire football community. With this support, they're determined to bring the trophy home and make the season count.
As previously reported, ticket holders for the match are encouraged to arrive early at the stadium. Kick-off is at 15:30. Various fans park have been arranged for those who have not been able to get a ticket. There is also Park-and-Ride, including paid public parking.
