Just four days after leading his team to a historic win over their arch rivals Orlando Pirates, Muhsin Ertugral coach of Kaizer Chiefs has his charges doing battle against Bloemfontein Celtic in Tshwane on Wednesday evening. A win against Celtic will all but seal a finish amongst the top eight teams in the league. It could also see Chiefs move above Free State Stars and into fifth spot. All of that though is academic as Ertugral is only concentrating on winning on Wednesday evening as he does not want his team going to Thohoyandou, for their final match of the season looking for a win against a Black Leopards team who will be fighting for PSL survival.

Formation change

Ertugral has reverted back to a more straight forward 4-4-2 formation for Wednesday’s match, and cuts his midfield down by one and alters the 4-5-1 system that he used during Saturday’s win over Pirates. The return of Mabhudi Khenyeza from suspension has helped Ertugral change his mind and go back to playing two strikers. Khenyeza who will partner Shaun Bartlett in attack will also be hoping to find the back of the net and take his goal tally for the season into double figures. With Ertugral going for two strikers it has meant that Gerald Sibeko has had to be sacrificed. The diminutive midfielder who made his 100th appearance for Chiefs a month ago, has been left out of the for Wednesday’s game all together.

Up for it

Ertugral has always asked for players to show commitment and be up for a fight against Celtic and was impressed by Sandile Zuke’s showing in training on Monday and Tuesday, and has rewarded the young defenders tenacity and hard work with a place amongst the 18 for Wednesday evenings match. Zuke will be replacing Wayne Matle amongst the substitutes for Chiefs final home match of the season.
