Amakhosi’s recently acquired defender, Rushwin Dortley, has been included in South African national team coach, Hugo Broos’ final squad for the upcoming 2025 Afcon qualifiers next month.

Bafana Bafana will play Uganda at the Orlando stadium on 6 September before embarking on an away trip to face South Sudan four days later, as they look to get off to a good start in their quest to reach the finals of the 35^th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco.

22-year-old Dortley will join the rest of the 23-man squad in camp on 2 September, where he will certainly gain valuable insights from being part of the international set-up, and quite possibly feature in the coach’s match squad come game day. He will return to Naturena on 11 September all the better for the experience

Though Dortley has yet to play competitively for Amakhosi, the vote of confidence from the national coach in selecting him for these important fixtures lends validity to the view that the procurement of Dortley was a very astute piece of recruitment by the Club’s management.
