Bring it on Swallows - Tshabalala

Kaizer Chiefs will be looking at continuing with the superior record they have over Soweto rivals, Moroka Swallows when the two clash at Loftus Stadium in the first leg MTN8 semifinal on Saturday night. The mouth-watering clash kicks off at 20h15.

The matches between the two sides have always produced fireworks and tomorrow it will not be different as Chiefs hope to continue where they left off against Santos at the same venue last weekend.

Siphiwe Tshabalala speaking to kaizerchiefs.com said they welcome an opportunity to meet the Dube Birds on Saturday night. “We were ready to meet anyone, Mamelodi Sundowns, Swallows or even Supersport United. The sides that have advanced to the semi finals deserve their place and they will all be tough. Swallows will not be different. We played them last year in a cup game at Loftus and the game had to go to penalties and we ended up coming on top. I expect the game to be a flowing game as both sides boasts with good players,” he said.

Siphiwe said the current team is different to the team that met Swallows last season. “The team is now younger and more determined. The guys are hungry to win the cup. I would want to call Amakhosi faithful to rally behind the team as their support is crucial to our success,” he added.

Meanwhile Head Coach, Muhsin Ertugral has confirmed the unavailability of defender Valery Nahayo who sustained an injury in the last weekend’s win against Santos.

“We just have to deal with the unfortunate situation we find ourselves in but I must say we are fortunate that the player will be ready before the start of the season. The injury is not as bad as we had initially thought. I am confident though that going to this game we have enough ammunition to do our job,” he said.
