Bobby Motaung: Chiefs has received no offers for Tshabalala

Posted in News on Jul 07, 2011.

Football Manager, Bobby Motaung has reacted to reports that the Club has received offers for midfielder, Siphiwe Tshabalala.

The reports of Tshabalala receiving ‘offers’ started during the 2010 World Cup when the player scored the opening goal of the tournament with one of the overzealous websites even suggesting that the Soweto born has signed a three year deal with Manchester United.

The Club came out and put the matters into perspective with regards to the reported ‘move’ and ‘offers’. Despite these efforts the reports about the move continued in the media.

It was only in January 2011, when the Club received invitation from Nottingham Forest for the player to come over for trials. Chiefs challenging for league honours at that stage released the player to train with the Club but nothing came of it.

This week the Club has once more been inundated with calls from Supporters following reports that the Club has received an offer for the player.

“Once more I wish to put it on record that the Club has not received any offer for Siphiwe Tshabalala,” said Motaung speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday afternoon.

“The player is in camp in preparation for the upcoming season and all these reports are destabilizing not only the player in question but the Club. Chiefs have received offers for players before like Valery Nahayo and Knowledge Musona and there was no secrecy and these were announced on the Club properties including the website. It will be announced on the website when an offer comes for the player. I urge our fans once more to follow news on our Club properties, www.kaizerchiefs.com, kaizerchiefs.mobi, Amakhosi Magazine and KCTV.
