Chiefs left back Onismor Bhasera has raised concern that the Amakhosi are running out of games and need to dismantle Golden Arrows on Wednesday afternoon, and collect three points which will put them back on course for a top eight finish.

Bhasera believes that they are well aware that there will be no second chances for them and another reason for Bhasera’s optimism is the fact that Chiefs last lost a league match to Arrows in Durban over five years ago in February 2003.

That is a statistic which Bhasera believes hands Chiefs the upper hand as they hold a psychological advantage over Arrows, and will help them in their mental preparation for the game. Arrows current fourth place placing in the league is not really troubling to Bhasera, who is looking up to the challenge of taking on the likes of Kagisho Dickagcoi.

Continued success

Bhasera holds the opinion that Chiefs can repeat their earlier success over Arrows which saw them win 4-2 when the teams met earlier in the season, and said “we managed to score four goals against them in the fourth round. At a time when they were also on some sort of form we managed to carve out a win then, I do feel that it is possible to repeat that success”.

The speedy Zimbabwean international left back would also like to ensure that Chiefs continue to hold the upper hand over Arrows in their own backyard he spelled it out saying. “It is always good to be dominant over a team especially away from home, we have managed to go five years with out a loss to Arrows in Durban right now we have no option but to extend that run as the top eight is our priority”.

Bhasera loves a challenge an on Wednesday he will have one and could be kept busy, while Arrows have at one end conceded 27 goals, they have managed to score 32 goals mostly due to their enterprising midfield which is lead by the Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dickagcoi.

Bhasera was well looking forward to the impending tussle with the Arrows midfielders “if we want to be in the top eight we need to beat teams like Arrows who have performed consistently well through the season. To prove that us like them have the necessary credentials to be in the top bracket” he says and concludes by saying “they have a number of players who have shone for them and we need to control them from playing their normal game. As well as on these players from being able to have the kind of influence that they usually do on the game”.
