Man of the Match, Arthur Bartman told the media after the final whistle against Ajax Cape Town that the Telkom Knockout victory augurs well with the players to finish the 2009/10 season in style.

Bartman revealed that the target for this season was to win the league title, “We really wanted to win the league title this season but then things did not work out. We are all delighted as players that we have won the Telkom Knockout after playing such difficult sides.

I think the character showed by the players throughout the competition was the difference between us and other teams that we competed with. The game against Orlando Pirates in particular was very taxing and at the end we came out tops,” said Bartman.

The 37-year-old stopper added that the trophy was also a ‘present’ for the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung for the work he has put in the Club in the past 40 years.

“We are turning 40 as the Club this year and what a way to celebrate our anniversary with a trophy. We want to say thanks to the Chairman who has given his all for the Club in the past 40 years. This one is over though, we have a tough game coming up against SuperSport United next week,” added Bartman who has earned himself an nickname, Batman from the fans.
