Not happy with the fact that his team were defeated by Thanda Royal Zulu in midweek Amakhosi coach Muhsin Ertugral has spoken in the harshest possible way, by axing a number of the players who featured during Wednesday evenings defeat in Rustenburg.

The coach has reverted back to a more traditional 4-4-2 formation and has done away with using Thuso Phala as a striker; instead the return of Shaun Bartlett sees the veteran striker who scored when Chiefs faced Cosmos earlier in the season will partner Kaizer Motaung in attack on Sunday afternoon.

As Chiefs bid to move out of the bottom end of the PSL by trying to take three points off Jomo Cosmos who are currently rooted at the foot of the league standings, anything but a Chiefs win could see The Amakhosi lingering precariously close to the drop zone.

Zwane close to double

The Chiefs midfield has a very different look about it from the Thanda Royal match, Arthur Zwane starts on the right of midfield he comes in at the expense of Mandla Masango who fails to make the eighteen for Sunday’s match up with Cosmos.

Joining Zwane who makes his 199th appearance for Chiefs in the midfield is David Mathebula he will in all likelihood be given a central attacking role, playing just behind the front pairing of Bartlett and Motaung.

Tau feet in

Chiefs also welcome defender Jimmy Tau back into the starting eleven as he missed the midweek fixture through a foot injury, after training for most of the past week Tau has regained his fitness and as a result was given the nod to start ahead of Cyril Nzama who finds himself amongst the substitutes for the Cosmos match.

Kaizer Chiefs (4-4-2): 32. Khune, 2. Tau, 3. Bhasera, 29. Tsotetsi, 8. Nengomasha, 28. Spencer, 24. Mathebula, 18. Zwane, 14. Tshabalala, 17. Bartlett, 7. Motaung Junior
