Amajita defender Lucky Baloyi has expressed his disappointment following the failure of national U-20 to proceed to next year's African Youth Championship after losing 3-2 on aggregate against Lesotho.

The U-20 side under the tutelage of Khabo Zondo were hoping to emulate the Class of 2009 that participated in the U-20 World Cup in Egypt last year.

The Glamour Boys had given both Lucky Baloyi and his teammate, Tshegofatso Ramabu an opportunity to go to Lesotho in hope of turning the result around after Amajita lost 2-0 at home in the first leg, "We lost it in the first leg," said the visibly disappointed Baloyi.

"We went to Lesotho with one thing on our minds a convincing win but it was not to be," continued Baloyi.

"We are all very disappointed to have lost to Lesotho as they are not one of the best in Africa. It was our wish to play in the African Youth Championships and emulate the likes of Mandla Masango who played in the World Cup," chipped in Ramabu.

Both players who missed the Telkom Charity Cup now hope to impress Vladimir Vermezovic as the Glamour Boys prepare for the MTN8.

"We cannot afford to drop our heads as we have to work hard to impress the coach before the start of the season. I am sure that we will get the chance here as time goes on," concluded Baloyi affectionately known as Sherriff.
