Vladimir Vermezovic has paid a glowing tribute to young midfielder, Lucky Baloyi following another outstanding performance on Saturday evening that saw the Glamour Boys qualifying for the MTN8 Wafa Wafa final against Orlando Pirates on Saturday, 10 September 2011.

The ‘Sheriff’ as Baloyi is affectionately known was at his best alongside Tinashe “The General” Nengomasha against a dangerous Ajax that has embarrassed teams before at Cape Town Stadium.

He was also unlucky not to score in the first half as Sean Roberts pulled a superb save denying him his first goal in the Premiership.

“Baloyi is to me a future Bafana Bafana player,” said VV addressing the media after the pulsating encounter.

“He is a very intelligent player and likes to have the feel of the ball. He is also lucky that he has someone like Tinashe for guidance. He is competing with Reneilwe Letsholonyane in that position and I am happy to have two quality players for one position.”

Baloyi, a product of Kaizer Chiefs Development has already represented the country at both the U20 and U23 level.

On the game, the Serbian congratulated his charges for a wonderful performance that saw the team qualifying for the final since 2008.

“It was an exciting game and both teams as expected played at a high level. I was also happy to see Bernard Parker playing like that tonight and it’s probably his best game ever in the gold and black jersey. I was pleased for him. I thought we did well in all departments. Cape Town is always like home and I would like to thank the fans for once more making this night a special evening.”
