The Amakhosi Supporters Club took advantage of the Confederations Cup fever this week, when painted the corridors of Bolders Shopping Mall in Midrand (Johannesburg) gold and black, signing-up new members during its rapidly growing recruitment outreach programme.

Chiefs recruitment patriots set up in the most busiest passageway of Midrand’s most popular shopping mall from Wednesday 17 July, to build up for what turned to be a buzzing Saturday during which all South Africans waited with bated breath the kick off of an all important clash between Bafana Bafana and European Champions Spain in a last qualifying match for the second round of the 2009 Confederations Cup.

ASC’s presence at the mall was graced by its hard working supporters’ branches who always lend their hand in mass mobilizing potential supporters within and around the shopping area. “We receive with great appreciation, the support we continue to enjoy from our branches, they have really shown a great zeal in working with us, something I believe will go a long way in strengthening our relations with our supporters. I must say though, that Malls presents us with a diverse group of potential supporters. It does not matter how busy people are but they always have time for shopping and this is what motivates us to prefer doing this kind of work at shopping centres” said the visionary Emmanuel Khumalo who is in charge of the operations for the Amakhosi Supporters Club.

“It excites us to see that management is doing everything in their power to bring services closer to the supporters. We are grateful of everything management is doing for us and we will continue to support all what you are doing, because it also benefits those who have a little know-how about the team and what we doing as the Kaizer Chiefs Family” said Johannes Moncho, a Public Relations Officer for the Lakeside Estate Branch.

Branches in attendance included, Honeydew, Diepsloot, Lanseria, Lakeside Estate.

Another PRO from Lanseria Branch, Cushier Thage also echoed praises for the Amakhosi for the good work management is doing. “Through our membership cards, we save a lot of money for services we could have got for a fortune but more importantly we feel protected. We would like to wish management success in all what they are doing going forward” she said

Outreach programme is also an opportune moment for the Club’s Public Relations Manager, Siyabulela “24/7” Makunga who is always on site to interact and build sound relations with the supporters.

“This opportunity presents me with a much needed opportunity to meet and interact with our diverse clientele. Here (outreach programme), we meet people from different walks of life who will rightfully engage with us constructively about issues relating to the club and the work we are doing. Today (Saturday) I had a pleasure of talking more about our newly appointed Coach Mr. Vladimir Vermezovic, new players and players already put on transfer. Such information is always received with great delight because it is authentic, credible and it is undistorted” he said.
