Recently appointed head coach, Nasreddine Nabi is confident that Kaizer Chiefs are well-placed to begin the 2024/25 Betway Premiership positively when they take on Marumo Gallants in the season’s opening fixture at Toyota stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Since the end of last season, the Club has acted decisively to fortify the playing staff with a number of exciting new additions and, following a successful pre-season training camp in Turkiye, the sense that Amakhosi are embarking on a new era has been building within the Club, as well as among the fanbase.
Speaking ahead of his league bow in the Chiefs dugout, Nabi tells www.kaizerchiefs.com that they are ready to begin the season strongly against Bahlabane ba Ntwa.
“The mood among the squad is good. We’ve finished the camp and apart from (Njabulo) Blom, who only joined recently and needs a bit of physical training to get up to speed, everyone is fit and available,” he says.
After spending a season in the National First Division following relegation in 2022/23, Gallants are back at the top table, having acquired the status of Moroka Swallows, and will also be hoping to get their return to the big-time off to a positive start.
However, Nabi and his technical team have been hard at work to ensure that doesn’t happen.
“Our analysts have done their research on the opponents and even watched some of their friendly games,” Nabi reveals, “So we are aware of their strengths and some of their weaknesses and have prepared accordingly.”
The sold-out match kicks off at 17:30 in the early evening of Saturday, 14 September, and those supporters fortunate enough to possess tickets are urged to make their way to Toyota stadium as early as possible to ensure smooth entry into the arena and to enjoy the pre-match festivities.
