Kaizer Chiefs four Zimbabwean internationals have been called up to the ‘Warriors’ squad for their Group A 2012 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying game in Harare on June 5 against the Eagles of Mali.

Amakhosi players left back Zhaimu Jambo, central defender Thomas Sweswe as well as midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha and striker Knowledge Musona have been included by coach Norman Mapeza for the all important clash against the Malians.

Chiefs defender Thomas Sweswe who featured in Zimbabwe’s last game back in March which was a 1-0 loss against the Malians in Bamako is pleased to have Knowledge Musona back for the match.

"When we went to Bamako Knowledge was not in the team, and it was a challenge for us to make and impact up front,” explained Sweswe before adding on “he finished off the season as the top scorer in the PSL and it would have given him a lot of confidence for this game.

"Nyasha Mushekwi was our only real attacker in the game in Bamako and its

good news for us to have two on form strikers going into this game.”

Sweswe also feels that the game against Mali can go along way towards determining whether or not Zimbabwe qualify for a third CAF Africa Cup of Nations Finals competition.

"We have two home games coming up the first one is against Mali and thereafter later in the year against Liberia, our aim is to pick up six points from these two games.

"Right now we are third in the group five points behind the Cape Verde and four off from Mali, so we need to win these games to close the gap, let us take it one game at a time and aim for a win against Mali. We know it will tough against a team packed with the kind of household names they have in their line up but we will be ready for them."

Sweswe is also looking forward to going back home to Zimbabwe and is hoping to get some rest in his home town of Harare in the off season, "The weather in Zimbabwe is warmer than Johannesburg’s at is. After the game against Mali a good few weeks of rest will be in order."

Zimbabwe are bidding to qualify for their third Africa Cup of Nations Competition, Amakhosi midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha was in the Zimbabwean team that participated at the 2004 and 2006 Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in Tunisia and Egypt. Mali will camp in South Africa in the build up to the game against the Zimbabweans.
