Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp and his charges took time out after training on Friday to spend time with learners and educators from the Disikgwane Primary School outside Brits in the North West Province.

The school that was in Johannesburg as part of an outing where they also visited the Rand Easter Show were afforded the opportunity to watch Amakhosi being put through their paces rigorously by coach Ernst Middendorp.

The learners added colour to the training session as they chanted and cheered on various players, with veteran midfielder Shoes Moshoeu being a clear favourite amongst them. With every touch of the ball, Moshoeu was followed by a noisy chorus that chanted out Shoooeeezzzz, the newfound support spurred Moshoeu on and he put on a display of note for his new found fan club.

At the end of the session, Chiefs players posed for pictures and signed autographs for the youngsters. Serge Djiehoua looked to be enjoying himself and commented “as a professional player you do not get much interaction with kids it is nice to talk with them and give them an opportunity to smile. When you make a kid happy it is such a rewarding feeling and these are the things that keep you going especially during tough times”.
