Kaizer Chiefs eagerly awaited NedBank Cup opener scheduled for the 14th March has had a shift in venue and has been moved from the Vodacom Loftus Stadium in Tshwane to the ABSA Stadium in Durban.

The match had to moved to KwaZulu-Natal as the pitch at the Vodacom Loftus Stadium has had to be resurfaced; the 20h00 kick off time for the match remains unchanged.

Chiefs have had a good run in Cup competitions at the ABSA Stadium since the 2004 – 2005 season of five league matches played at the ground The Amakhosi have won, which have included two cup Finals in the form of the 2005 – 2006 ABSA Cup as the Nedbank Cup was previously known.

And they reversed their 2004 – 2005 SAA Supa8 Final defeat to SuperSport United at the same venue, when they defeated United in the Final of the 2006 – 2007 SAA Supa8 Competition at the ABSA Stadium.
