Kaizer Chiefs will start their 2025 with an away assignment against Cape Town City FC at the DHL stadium on Sunday. The Betway Premiership clash against the Citizens is Amakhosi’s 11th league of the season.
After picking up three points in their home game played in Durban on 30 December against Chippa United, Chiefs want to start the new year on a positive note with maximum points away from home against City. The home team, on the other hand, will want to pick up a victory after suffering a 1-0 defeat against AmaZulu towards the end of 2024, which was followed by a parting ways from their coach of three years, Eric Tinkler.
On the log, Chiefs are in 7th position after picking up 15 points from 10 matches. City are 12th, with 11 points from 10 outings.
The game will take place two days before Amakhosi mark the 55th anniversary of their formation and a win by Coach Nasreddine Nabi and the boys will be a great gift to the millions of supporters around the world.
