Eight Kaizer Chiefs players were part of the Vela Khumalo-led national U-20 squad that claimed the COSAFA Region V Youth Games championship by beating Malawi 3-0 in the final at UNAM stadium in Windhoek, Namibia, on Sunday. Young Glamour Boy, Khayalethu Mzimala opened the scoring in the final before Amajita added two more without reply to seal victory in emphatic fashion.

Along with Mzimela, Bokamoso Mokokosi, Royce Malatji, Ziyanda Mchunu, Tebogo Mangeni, Lebohang Dlamini, Neo Bohloko and Steven Mendes all contributed to the successful campaign, with Mendes (twice), Bohloko and Mokokosi also getting on the scoresheet during the tournament.

This title continues an impressive run which has seen Amajita lift the COSAFA U-20 Championship in Mozambique last year and then the U-20 AFCON trophy in Egypt to become continental champions for the first time.

We congratulate Coach Vela and the players for representing Kaizer Chiefs with distinction on the international stage.
