Kaizer Chiefs and Black Leopards created a piece of history when they contested a PSL game behind closed doors at the FNB Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

With a spectator ban in full effect the South African Police Services made all the noise with a ring of steel keeping spectators from entering the stadium.

The game itself began at a pedestrian pace with both teams probing and not taking any chances. In truth clear goal scoring opportunities were few and far between in a first half which saw both teams forced to make forced substitutions.

This happened when Kaizer Chiefs Shoes Moshoeu and Leopards Dan Semake rose to challenge for the same ball which resulted in the two players clashing heads rendering both unable to continue.

Chiefs came out in the second half the more positive and began opening up the Leopards defense, on 48 minutes substitute Songwe Chalwe took up the ball just past the halfway mark and ran through the Leopards defense also evading the on rushing Mutshi.

He layed off the ball to the on rushing Arthur Zwane with the goal gaping Zwane hit the post and watched the ball run out for a goal kick.

The Amakhosi had the opportunity again to go ahead in the 56 minute when Songwe Chalwe once again was in the fore front of the battle, as he layed the ball off to David Obua only to see his effort pushed out for a corner.

Two minutes later Louis Agyemang set up Arthur Zwane and the Chiefs midfielder was once again unfortunate as Muthsi in the Leopards goal through his body on the line to stop Chiefs taking the lead.

As the game wore on a host of Chiefs player the likes of David Obua, Songwe Chalwe and Louis Agyemang had the opportunity to take home the points but were unable to convert the chances handed to them.

With time running down Chiefs might feel aggrieved as Songwe Chalwe was brought down in the Leopards 18 yard area but the referee did not budge.

With three points out of their last three games coach Ernst Middendorp cut a lonely figure as he stared into the setting sun twenty minutes after the game as he plots the way forward for Chiefs.
