The Kaizer Chiefs contingent landed in Cairo, Egypt this morning before embarking on a two-hour bus journey to Ismailia as preparations continue for their final match in the group stages of this season’s TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup against Zamalek SC.
This decisive Group D clash, along with the fixture between Al Masry and ZESCO, will determine which teams advance to the quarterfinals.
Amakhosi currently lead the group with 10 points, having won their last three matches. Zamalek follow in second place with eight points, Al Masry sit third with seven points, while Zesco anchor the table with three points.
The qualification scenarios are clear: Chiefs need at least a draw to secure their spot in the last eight, while both Zamalek and Al Masry must win outright to progress.
Chiefs will be without defenders Inacio Miguel, who is sidelined through injury, and Aden McCarthy, who is suspended after accumulating multiple cautions.
Head coaches Ben Khalil Youssef and Cedric Kaze have taken a 23-man squad to the land of the Pharaohs.
Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 on Valentine’s Day (Saturday, 14 February) at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt.
