Amakhosi Chairman wishes Middendorp well at Bielefeld

Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Kaizer Motaung was having his afternoon tea Wednesday, when news filtered through to him that former Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp had been employed by German Bundesliga outfit Arminia Bielefeld.



Middendorp who has had previous coaching stints at the Bundesliga club who find themselves in a fight for survival in the German top flight, has signed a contract with Bielefeld, which runs through to the end of the 2007 – 2008 season.



The Amakhosi Chairman upon receiving the news of Middendorp’s appoint as the new Bielefeld coach said, “I would like to take this opportunity to wish Ernst all the success with his new team. He has a tough job in trying to help them in their relegation battle. Having coached at Bielefeld in the past - it will allow him to fit in to his new post easily. Once again good luck to Ernst and all the best”.



Middendorp who coached Chiefs from the start of the 2005-2006 season until the 5th of March of this year, held his first training session with his new team on Wednesday afternoon. The former Chiefs’ coach first assignment at Bielefeld will be this weekend when his team currently placed 17th in the 18 team Bundesliga, travel to 9th placed Alemannia Aachen.
